CERCLE FESTIVAL

A GLOBAL MUSIC GATHERING

27/06/2024

Cercle Festival has once again proven its unparalleled allure and global reach. Over its weekend of May 25 and 26, the festival welcomed an astounding 24,000 attendees, a testament to its growing popularity and exceptional lineup. This year's event saw an unprecedented 140,000 people pre-register for ticket access, highlighting the immense demand and anticipation surrounding the festival. The festival's international appeal was evident, with 50% of the audience coming from abroad, representing an impressive 73 different nationalities. This diverse mix of attendees underscores Cercle's reputation as a truly global gathering, drawing music enthusiasts from every corner of the world. Cercle Festival has also set a remarkable standard in promoting gender diversity within the music industry. One third of this year's performers were feminine artists, a significant achievement considering the industry's typical rates. This commitment to inclusivity not only enriches the festival's lineup but also champions the broader movement towards equality in music.

Toka Musik's very own Naddy attended the 2nd day of the festival and described his experience as follows:

''The Musée de l'Air et de l'Espace, founded in 1919, set a perfect backdrop for the Cercle festival. From the moment I approached the museum, I could feel the historical essence of 1919 combined with the futuristic presence of rockets and airplanes, creating an immersive atmosphere that exuded the spirit of space and aviation. While entering, the staff was very friendly and welcoming, not to mention the energy of the crowd that was simply enchanting. It was evident that everyone was overjoyed to be part of this extraordinary event, with a beautiful mix of different nationalities adding to the vibrant atmosphere. The festival's multiple stages offered a diverse array of music, ensuring there was always something for everyone to enjoy, no matter their musical preference. At one point, a heavy rain shower lasted for nearly half an hour. Remarkably, it didn't dampen anyone's spirits. Some took cover while continuing to dance, while others joyfully embraced the rain, dancing without a care in the world. My personal highlights were the performances by Oden and Fatzo, Bantwanas, and Boris Brejcha. Oden and Fatzo's performance was full of energy, with happy music and smiles all over the dance floor, creating an incredibly energetic atmosphere. Bantwanas introduced a new type of music that felt emotional and profound, as if they were sending a powerful message to the world, which they undoubtedly succeeded in doing. Boris Brejcha delivered a flawless, flowy set from start to finish. Even those who don't typically enjoy his style of music found themselves captivated by his performance that day."

Make sure to stay tuned for our one on one interview with Bantwanas coming out on July 3rd.
