14 FAKTS INTERVIEW WITHCristina Lazic

Interviewed by GBS , March.21.2022

Q: How would you describe yourself in one word?

Determined. I am generally pretty ambitious and like to set goals torealize, and I will do everything in my power to make them happen at somepoint.

Q: What was the driving force that got you into Music Production and when?

My husband gave me an Ableton 10 and a Push as a present for a weddinganniversary, but because of lack of time I didn’t start practicing with themuntil when Italy was forced in a very strict lockdown, and I took theopportunity of having gigs and trips canceled to start working onproduction. I started off with some remote lessons with a teacher, thenwatching webinars and spending endless hours on Ableton. The rest ishistory ;)

Q: Analog or Digital? And why?

I am a fan of both, for production I am more used to producing with digitaland I like the comfort of being able to produce from anywhere (like at theseaside, where I normally escape to get inspired). When it comes to Djing, Iam a big fan of both digital and analog: I love playing with Pioneer DJCDJs, but also with turntables.

Q: What's your favorite venue and why does it stand out from the rest?

Fold London. A sick location in the far east of London. No phones allowed, excellent screens for amazing visuals behind the DJ booth, no VIP etc. Areal venue for music lovers.

Q: If you were to have a superpower, what would it be and why?

Teletransportation. I have a deep desire to visit every country in theworld, our planet is so beautiful… but I feel like one life is not enough tosee it all. I’d love to have teletransportation superpower, to speed uptraveling and visit even the most remote places, like Fiji or Easter Island.

Q: If you had to play 1 more track at your favorite club, what track would it be and why?

Devendra by Dorothy’s Dream - it’s included in my fav vinyl only EP byBotanic Minds, BM04. It’s a very catchy track that always works, in anykind of situation!   Q: 1 person you'd dream to have a coffee with?

David Attenborough

Q: If you would have been given the chance to do a film score from the past, what movie would you choose and why?

Not an electronic genre, but La vita è bella (Life is beautiful) is my favoritemovie by far. I like it when movies depict complex situations through theeyes of simple people and in a genuine way. The soundtrack is a total workof art and I definitely would have loved to contribute in writing suchamazing and emotional music.

Q: Recommend a hidden gem in your home country that would fit a perfect rave?

I normally escape to the seaside a couple of hours away from Milan, in thebeautiful region of Liguria. There is a place where we usually go for specialdinners with family and friends, in a very cute “borgo” (town) called Verezzi, called La Rosa dei Venti. This place offers a large garden in front of one church and one old building, overlooking an amazing view of thegulf and the sea. I think this could be a majestic place to hold a nice littlerave, obviously respecting the beauty of nature and of the buildings of-course.

Q: What are 3 tracks that got you into electronic music?

Laurent Garnier - The man with the red faceo

The Chemical Brothers - Hold Tight Londono

Paul Kalkbrenner - Aaron

Q: Tell us about your upcoming releases and plans for this year.

I am very excited to launch my very first EP on March 18th, with a releaseon Crosstown Rebels’ sublabel Rebellion. It will be followed by my USdebut in Miami at Get Lost at the end of March, and then I will have somemore releases, vinyl only, remixes and again an EP. Summer will be busy, with many international gigs, from Canada to Serbia, and of course Ibiza -many news to come in this respect. I am also working on my own NFTseries, which should be an interesting project and which I look forward tolaunching soon!

Q: Tell us a fun fact about yourself that most of your listeners don't know.

I can play any melody by ear with the piano. I don’t know how thathappens, my hands just flow - it’s always been like that, since when I was achild. But being less serious, let me tell you a fun fact: I am very scared oflightning! I can really freak out when I see that a storm with lightning isapproaching.

Q: Last but not least, do you have any questions for the viewer/reader?

I’d like to know if you have made a bucket list of things you want to do inyour life, and if so how many of the things in that list have you done? If youhave not done enough, maybe you want to set some list and make ithappen?
