Milan-based DJ/producer Davide T is making a growing mark on Italy’s house scene with his precise grooves and percussive rhythms. Building a rising reputation through electrifying performances as a resident at Manawa Experience and Red Motel parties, he has earned the attention of key figures such as Marco Carola, The Martinez Brothers, and Jamie Jones. Now, after a string of impressive releases this year, Davide makes his label debut on Loco Dice’s Desolat imprint with ‘6.00 AM’, a three-track EP that brings the label’s 2024 schedule to a powerful close.
Jumping straight into the action, ‘6.00 AM’ bursts with tight drum patterns, speedy hi-hats, and warping beats, while the smooth, calm female vocals create an unexpected contrast to the groove. Next, ‘Funky Beats’ rolls in with chunky, fast-paced rhythms, leading into a smooth R&B flow with rap-style vocals and intricate beats. Closing the EP alongside fellow countryman DRAXX, the duo delivers pure energy with ‘Daddy’, a track packed with vibrant, hard-hitting percussion that speaks for itself.
Q: Please introduce yourself
Hello everyone, I'm Davide T, a DJ and Producer from a little place near Milan called Rosate. I was born in 95 and I fell in love with music at the early age of 15.
Q: One person you'd dream to have a coffee with?
Elon Musk.
Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
It would be great to see the future, not in the long term, but in the short term, to better understand life’s situations.
Q: If you would have been given the chance to do a film score, what movie would you choose and why?
Of course the film of my life ahah, but if I had the knowledge to do that, definitely "Interstellar."
Q: Who has been the most influential in your music career? And why?
Darius Syrossian, biggest influence to me.
Q: Tell us about your journey, what got you to where you are today?
I think I can say it all with one word 'Perseverance' and believe in yourself, it took many years to understand that, but I think that is the key.
Q: Everyone goes through ups and downs, what’s one habit you adopt to push through the downs?
One of the most important things to me is having a small circle of people I can rely on. As I mentioned before, I always remind myself that the big DJs from back in the day were once just like me.
Q: Can you recall a DJ set or performance of yours that remains unforgettable to you? Where did it take place, and what makes it stand out among all others?
I had this feeling this year - Loco Dice b2b The Martinez Brothers at Hi. An unforgettable night—the perfect sound in the perfect place.
Q: How has your music style evolved over the years?
My sound grew up with me. Before, I used to make what people wanted, but nowadays I understand that people will enjoy your music more when it is personal and comes from your heart, because the style is still the same, tech-house vibes, but I’ve realized that you have to do it with passion and not for fashion (as Paco said).
Q: If you were to venture into another music genre, which one would you choose and why?
Probably Hip-Hop, I only listen to that while I'm not in the studio, it gives me the right vibe.
Q: Could you name 3 tracks that got you into electronic music and why?
Darius Syrossian, Hector Couto - Here We Come
Tiger Stripes - Sister
Modjo - Lady.
Three bangers from the start of my journey that made me fall in love with house music.
Q: Can you recommend a hidden gem in your home country that would be perfect for a rave?
For sure my two home parties, Manawa Experience and Red Motel! Where my people are and the best vibes!
Q: Could you tell us about your upcoming releases and plans for the year?
This friday I will release my debut EP on the legendary label of Loco Dice, Desolat - Later this year I have one release on Detlef's label, Issues, and a collab with big bro Amine Edge, and some other big things that I can't spoil at the moment ahahah.
Q: Can you share a fun fact about yourself that most of your listeners are probably unaware of?
I play Call Of Duty Warzone and I'm so good at it.
