m.age.project is an organic house artist who is also a jazz musician, and his new release Lucid State Dimensions includes three original tracks, plus remixes by Beatfarmer, Oondza, and Barda.The release comes from Baikal Nomads, which is an innovative record label that is a breeding ground for talented artists from across the world. m.age.project has released music on two of the record label’s compilations, and this is his first solo release on Baikal Nomads. His music combines live instruments layered over electronic landscapes that he stretches over a framework of rejuvenating drum rhythms.There are also three masterful remixes by Beatfarmer, Oondza, and Barda. Beatfarmer and Oondza are both Canadian artists, and Barda is an Argentinian artist.The title track, “Lucid State Dimensions,” layers delicate string flurries with off-kilter pads that have tense undertones. Beatfarmer’s remix of “Lucid State Dimensions” adds a new and thicker bassline that lifts the intensity with its pulsating groove, he also removes some of the original’s synths to make room for a new melodic pad. Barda also remixes “Lucid State Dimensions,” adding trumpets, guitar licks, and some live drum fills to create a more organic version.“Benevolence” is the second original track, and it’s got warping drum sounds combined with electric synth pulses and wonderous melodies that have a cosmic feel. Oondza’s remix of “Benevolence” drops the tempo, and adds in some acid synths to create a trippy, dystopian vibe.“Psycelium” is the third of the original tracks, and it uses ethereal vocals, breezy pads and a swelling melody synth that reaches a crescendo in the main breakdown.
