14 FAKTS INTERVIEW WITHRENDHER

08/01/2025

Barcelona-born DJ/producer Rendher marks the start of a bold new chapter as he closes a busy 2024 with the launch of his first record label, No Religion Lab. Known for his dynamic sets at some of the world’s most iconic clubs — including Ibiza’s Hï, DC10, and Amnesia, plus London’s Printworks, Amsterdam’s Shelter, and New York’s Brooklyn Mirage — the Spanish talent has captivated global audiences with his relentless work ethic and ever-evolving sound within the global tech house realm. Now, he channels that same creative energy into No Religion Lab, a space for unrestricted, authentic expression and artistic exploration.

The label’s first release, ‘Milito Pa’, is a collaboration with close friend Ssero. Created in Medellin in early 2024, it merges nostalgic elements from Rendher and Ssero’s teenage years with modern touches, creating an infectious, genre-blending cut that connects with audiences on a visceral level - with the track already commanding dancefloors across the world.

Q: Please introduce yourself

I’m Rendher, a DJ and electronic music producer from Barcelona, Spain. My sound is heavily influenced by the 90s hip-hop scene and Latin rhythms, which I blend with groovy, forward-thinking electronic beats. I run my own label, No Religion Lab, and I’ve had the chance to play at some of the world’s most iconic clubs, like DC-10, Hï Ibiza, and Printworks. Music is my way of telling stories, and I’m here to share mine with you.

Q: One person you'd dream to have a coffee with?

Virgil Abloh. His ability to bridge the gap between music, fashion, and art while creating a distinct cultural impact is something I admire deeply. I’d love to pick his brain about creativity and building timeless projects.

Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?

Teleportation, no doubt. As someone who’s constantly traveling for gigs, skipping airports and jet lag would be a dream come true. Plus, imagine being able to play back-to-back sets across continents in the same night.

Q: If you would have been given the chance to do a film score, what movie would you choose and why?

Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift. The mix of speed, intensity, and the aesthetic of Asian culture from the 90s and 2000s would be a perfect canvas to create a high-energy electronic soundtrack.

Q: Who has been the most influential in your music career? And why?

Kanye West. His approach to sampling, his artistic vision for a release and everything surrounding it, and his fearlessness in pushing ideas forward without following industry standards have influenced me greatly.

Q: Tell us about your journey, what got you to where you are today?

I started experimenting with music production in my teens, influenced by the hip-hop and Latin sounds around me. Over the years, I found my way into electronic music, constantly refining my sound and building connections in the scene. Releasing on respected labels and launching my own, No Religion Lab, have been milestones. But honestly, it’s the support from people resonating with my music that drives me forward.

Q: Everyone goes through ups and downs, what’s one habit you adopt to push through the downs?

Spending time with my family is the first thing that helps me recharge. Then, spending time with my crew, who are my biggest supporters, also keeps me grounded. Whether it’s bouncing ideas around or just having a good laugh, they make everything feel lighter.

Q: Can you recall a DJ set or performance of yours that remains unforgettable to you? Where did it take place, and what makes it stand out among all others?

Two sets come to mind. One is playing the main room at Hï Ibiza, the number one club in the world, alongside artists like Paco Osuna, Marco Carola, and Loco Dice—artists I admire and respect in my genre. The other is my first elrow set at Amnesia, because I’ve been living elrow from the dance floor since I was a teenager.

Q: How has your music style evolved over the years?

It’s become more refined and true to myself. I’ve moved from experimenting with different sounds to crafting something that feels unique yet accessible, with a balance of groove, emotion, and energy.

Q: If you were to venture into another music genre, which one would you choose and why?

Hip-hop would be my first choice. It’s where I started and where I learned how to build rhythm and grooves. My second choice would be urban Latin rhythms, as they’re part of my roots and have an energy I connect with.

Q: Could you name 3 tracks that got you into electronic music and why?

Celeda, Danny Tenaglia - Music Is The Answer: This track taught me how vocals can elevate a groove.

Marco Carola - Play It Loud: It showed me the power of minimalism and precision in electronic music.

Daft Punk - Around the World: It was my first introduction to how electronic music could be funky and hypnotic.

Q: Can you recommend a hidden gem in your home country that would be perfect for a rave?

The thermal power station of Sant Adrià del Besòs. Its industrial vibe and raw energy would make for an unforgettable backdrop for a rave.

Q: Could you tell us about your upcoming releases and plans for the year?

I’m excited to release my debut album ‘All My Sounds’ in 2025, which reflects the cultures and places I’ve experienced. I’m also building No Religion Lab into more than just a label—it’s becoming a movement. And of course, more gigs, more music, and more stories to tell.

Q: Can you share a fun fact about yourself that most of your listeners are probably unaware of?

Before music took over, I almost became a graphic designer. I still enjoy creating visuals, which is why the identity of my label, No Religion Lab, is so important to me.
