Q: Please introduce yourself

Hi, my name is TULVAN, born in 94’, in Romania. I’m an artist, DJ and Producer and most of the time a dreamer. Connected with music in everything I do. 

Q: One person you'd dream to have a coffee with?

That would be Quincy Jones, he is one of the all-time universal creators of this art and probably the man of this century when it comes to music. I would love to learn from his creative process and his work with legends like Michael Jackson, Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles and others. 

Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?

Probably time travel, I’m fascinated about all the stuff related to universe and history. 

Q: If you would have been given the chance to do a film score, what movie would you choose and why?

Definitely I would choose Interstellar, cause the visual effects with the direction of Nolan and the performance of Matthew McConaughey, plus, last but not least, Hans Zimmer’s score gives a strong emotional impact and positions the film as one of the best movies ever made 

Q: Who has been the most influential in your music career? And why?

I could say that there were many moments that impacted my musical journey, but some influence I got from the industry titans: Marco Carola, Luciano, Loco Dice… 

Q: Tell us about your journey, what got you to where you are today?

I have been a music lover since forever. When I was a kid, I used to listen to music before sleep and always imagined crowded places where I had something to share. These dreams became reality a few years ago when my musical universe aligned. 

Q: Everyone goes through ups and downs, what’s one habit you adopt to push through the downs?

The one that I’m still working on is having patience and accepting that even if the world doesn’t seem as right as you think, the universe always gives us everything we need in the present moment 

Q: Can you recall a DJ set or performance of yours that remains unforgettable to you? Where did it take place, and what makes it stand out among all others?

There was an event in the forest, about 2-3 years ago, took place in the North West of Romania, it was one of those moments when my connection with music went to the next level. I loved the vibes, because there was no phone signal and everyone was connected with the music. 

Q: How has your music style evolved over the years?

Went from Dark and Melodic Techno to Tech-House and Deep Tech Minimal. But today exploring the music through many genres. With the years I’ve become very picky when it comes to quality and sound design. 

Q: If you were to venture into another music genre, which one would you choose and why?

If I would have to follow another music genre, probably I’ll go with Indie Dance, being the one that got me into electronic music scene in the first place. The blended Alternative Rock with EDM explaining how lovely music can fusion. But I also love Pop music. 

Q: Could you name 3 tracks that got you into electronic music and why?

There would be many, but what I remember right now…

1. Justin Jay - You Give Me Butterflies.

2. Worakls - Porto.

3. Luciano - Rise Of Angel.

Incredible pieces of art that moves your soul. 

Q: Can you recommend a hidden gem in your home country that would be perfect for a rave?

I couldn't say for sure. My country has beautiful natural areas and many great places to organize a festival. However, in my opinion, the music culture is currently weakening and losing its value. 

Q: Could you tell us about your upcoming releases and plans for the year?

My upcoming release is called “Ninety Four” and is coming out on Desolat, Loco Dice’s label…which definitely is one of the best labels in the world in the scene. I’m grateful and excited, this one it’s about achieving dreams and that hard work will always pay off. I want to thanks Dice for believing in my music, these are the moments that totally worth the sweat, tears and dedication. 

Q: Can you share a fun fact about yourself that most of your listeners are probably unaware of?

When I have a hiccup, I barely can stop :))
